​Senior Software Engineer (Python)

At Paylogic, we develop and maintain a highly scalable and flexible ticketing platform that made us market leader in many markets. With this solid foundation and our open strategy, we are now able to grow into new opportunities and we need a full-stack senior Python expert to join our existing experienced team in Amsterdam or Groningen (NL).

 

Are you ready to change the way major well-known international brands like Tomorrowland, Sensation, Mysteryland and Sziget interact with their fans? This is not necessarily limited to ticketing anymore, but includes many new technological initiatives. Paylogic is an international technology company, with offices in the Netherlands, Belgium & Germany. We offer a white-label ticketing solution to many major events worldwide, such as Tomorrowland, Sensation, Andre Rieu and Defqon, selling millions of tickets each year, including peak sales where we sell around 360.000 tickets within in an hour, with more than 1 million interested fans.


Our open and white-label strategy, allowing event organizers to engage with their fans directly, made us market leader in many markets. Our goal for the coming years is to offer more services to our clients, which they can sell to their fans via our platform (i.e. travel). We will change the way events interact with fans, by creating a new user-centric (personalized) view on e-commerce.

Some of the key features of the job:

  • Work on a highly scalable, high traffic online ticketing application written in Python;
  • Work with state of the art Python libraries and frameworks and being part of a excellent, international team of Python experts (>20);
  • Apply the latest advances in internet technologies whilst using modern software engineering methodologies (agile, scrum, peer reviewing)
  • Working in  a open source oriented environment with friendly, knowledgeable and passionate coworkers;
  • Cool, fast-paced , high-tech atmosphere, with loads of freedom to experiment

Requirements

About you

  • Software engineering is your passion and you appreciate the hacker mind-set;
  • Expert in Python, 5+ years of experience and experience with Python frameworks (Django, Flask and ...), expert knowledge of at least one of them.
  • Expert in SQL, databases such as MySQL.
  • Expert in ORM such as SQLAlchemy, query optimization practices.
  • Experience in JavaScript and related frameworks (AngularJS, EmberJS, ReactJS, and ...), expert knowledge of at least one of them.
  • Experience in Async/non blocking programming.
  • Experience in task queues such as Celery.
  • Experience with DVCS such as Mercurial and Git.
  • Full-stack experience
  • Setting up linux servers, web servers.
  • Knowledge of Amazon web services (AWS).
  • Full text search engines.
  • Experience in automated testing.
  • Bonus points for:  open source projects high availability systems, cloud computing (Amazon Web Services), payment industry, ticketing systems, monitoring large server clusters, distributed version control workflows.
  • You are fun to hang out with and love working in teams and a dynamic environment;
  • Experience in managing a team (10p) would be a huge pro!

 
Our offer

Salary in line with experience, full time employment (40h).

Location: Center of Amsterdam or Groningen (The Netherlands).
